Arkansas reaches more than 10,500 active cases, 2.552 new cases over the weekend
Conway, Arkansas – Arkansas reaches more than 10,500 active cases across the state, according to the latest Covid-19 report.
Arkansas Department of Health issues the weekend report on Monday. Arkansas added 2.552 new positive cases over the weekend and 15 additional deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of reported positive cases is 365,132 while the total number of deaths is 6,007.
Arkansas also has the highest number of active cases in a while, now reaching 10,505.
As of Monday, there are 787 people hospitalized of which 129 people are on ventilator.
Pulaski County recorded the highest number of positive cases adding 447 new cases over the three-day period.
This is what Gov. Asa Hutchinson said on Twitter following the report:
We saw good vaccine numbers over the weekend, with an increase of nearly 16,000 doses administered. Unfortunately, we also saw an increase of over 100 hospitalizations. Nearly all patients hospitalized with COVID-19 have not been fully vaccinated, so get your shot today.
