Arkansas State beats ULM

Jonesboro, Arkansas – The Arkansas State running back became the first Sun Belt player in 12 years to score a touchdown on the ground, in the air, and on a kickoff return. By defeating ULM 45–28, the Red Wolves improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in Sun Belt competition. In addition to a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter, Lang also scored on an 18-yard reception in the second quarter.

On Saturday, the Red Wolves defeated the Warhawks for the thirteenth time in a row. QB James Blackman completed 25 of his 32 passes for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns. Te’Vailance Hunt, who was back in the starting lineup for the Red Wolves, scored a receiving touchdown early on.

Jordan Carmouche and Eddie Smith led the group with six tackles each. Additionally, Carmouche got two TFLs and a sack. For A-State, Dennard Flowers added a TFL and a sack. On Saturday, All-Sun Belt defensive end Kivon Bennett played again and registered 3 tackles, 0.5 TFL, and 0.5 sacks.

Dominic Zvada kept up his flawless start to his Red Wolves career as a kicker. In the first quarter, the Arizona freshman kicked a 46-yard field goal. He has made 7/7 field goals and 19/19 extra points this season.

The following game for Arkansas State is against the unbeaten James Madison. At Centennial Bank Stadium on October 8, the Red Wolves and Dukes will face off. The game will be broadcast televised on NFL Network and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
