The LIHEAP application for winter utility bill assistance is now available
Little Rock, Arkansas – Entergy Arkansas customers who require assistance with winter power bills can now apply for the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
From January 6 through the end of March, or until the funds are used up, the application window will be available. Assistance of up to $475 is available to you.
According to Brandi Hinkle of Entergy Arkansas Corporate Social Responsibility, “Clients can quickly and easily complete the LIHEAP application and upload the required documents from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.” “We urge friends and family to assist those who may not be as tech-savvy in completing their applications as quickly as possible.”
You can apply in person at nearby community-based groups or online at this link.
In Arkansas, household size and income—which is 150% of the Federal Poverty Level and 60% of the state median income—determine eligibility for LIHEAP.
Digital copies of the account holder’s photo ID, copies of the most current utility bills, proof of income, evidence of domicile, and Social Security cards for each household member are required.
Hinkle stated, “Entergy Arkansas is constantly looking for ways to assist our customers, and the LIHEAP program is a great resource to help during financial difficulty.” “The online application speeds up the process to guarantee that your power remains on or can be reconnected if needed, which is particularly crucial in cold weather.”
Only 66,407 homes received financing before the $41 million was completely utilized, despite the fact that over 327,000 households were qualified for LIHEAP payments, according to recent data from the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition.
