Fayetteville, Arkansas – Saylor Poffenbarger recorded her second consecutive double-double and Chrissy Carr scored 18 points as No. 21 Arkansas defeated Lamar 63-50 on Thursday night.

Redshirt freshman Poffenbarger, a UConn transfer, produced a career-high 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Razorbacks (11-0) continued their finest start since going 13-0 in 2013 by restricting the Cardinals (4-4) to 17 points in the second half. Samara Spencer added 17 points to the team total.

Sabria Dean scored 11 points, while Portia Adams scored 12 to lead Lamar.

By nailing 4 of 7 3-pointers and 13 of 26 shots overall against an Arkansas team that was allowing 57.8 points and 33% shooting, 27% from 3-point range, the Cardinals took a 33-31 lead into halftime.

That changed in the second half when Lamar finished with a 17% half after going 3 of 16 in the third quarter and 2 of 13 in the second.

To finish at 44%, the Razorbacks made 6 out of 12 shots in the fourth quarter. They made just 7 out of 23 shots from outside the arc and only 14 out of 31 (45%) at the foul line. They had 20 turnovers as well, matching Lamar.

Before a stretch of what could be four straight ranked teams, depending on how the tournament goes, Arkansas plays Arkansas State on Sunday.
