Governor Sanders deploys forty National Guard members from Arkansas to the southern border
Little Rock, Arkansas – In an attempt to stabilize border management, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders dispatched the Arkansas Army National Guard to the southern border on Tuesday to assist the Texas National Guard.
Sanders claims that about forty guardsmen were dispatched to help fight against drug trafficking, human trafficking, and illegal immigration brought about by the failing policies of the Biden administration.
The country’s border will be manned by guards from April 1 to May 30.
“President Biden opened our southern border to an invasion of illegal immigrants, drugs, and human trafficking and is now criticizing Texas for stepping up where his administration has failed. I’ve seen the crisis our President created firsthand, and I know the incredible men and women of the Arkansas Guard can help supplement Texas’ efforts to keep our border secure and our states safe,” said Governor Sanders.
Sanders stated that to give their partners better detection and tracking skills, the Arkansas Guardsmen will improve the Texas National Guard’s surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
“The Arkansas National Guard has a rich history of helping neighboring states in a crisis,” said Maj. Gen. Jonathan Stubbs, Arkansas’ Adjutant General. “We assisted Texas last year, and have done so under previous administrations. Our Soldiers will be well prepared and ready to assist the Texas National Guard’s operations.”
In 2023, Sanders dispatched eighty guardsmen to the border due to a similar absence of rules.
