More than 900 new Covid-19 cases reported in Arkansas, active cases and hospitalizations on the rise, daily Covid-19 report
Arkansas – A huge jump in active cases is seen in the latest Covid-19 daily report issued by the Arkansas Department of Health on Thursday.
According to the data shown in the report, Arkansas added a total of 918 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Additionally, 14 more deaths were added in the overall statistics.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Arkansas now reached 536,368, while the total number of Covid-19 related deaths is 8,810.
The number of active cases is seeing a huge increase. The report indicates that there are a total of 7,962 active Covid-19 cases across Arkansas, which is 420 more compared to Wednesday.
The number of hospitalizations is seeing an increase of 20 patients, now sitting at 460. The number of people on ventilator support was increased by 15, now reaching 95.
Counties with the most cases reported on Thursday are Pulaski, Benton and Washington, adding 78, 62 and 61 cases in the statistics respectively.
Arkansas Department of Health also confirmed that 13,725 doses of the Covid-19 were administrated in the last 24 hours which is great taking into consideration we are approaching Christmas and more indoor gathering are expected in the upcoming period.
“While our vaccine numbers are better than last week, we still see an increase in hospitalizations, ventilator usage, and active cases. I am somewhat optimistic about this winter, but we can’t let up. Vaccinations remain the key,” Gov. Hutchinson said on Twitter.
