Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Conway marks the beginning of the holiday season
Conway, Arkansas – With the lighting of their Christmas tree on Sunday night, the City of Conway officially began the holiday season.
Even while the tree lighting was the main event of the evening, there were plenty of other things to do, such as a Ferris wheel, live music, and photos with Santa.
Those who attended the event reported that it is an annual tradition that unites the neighborhood.
It’s a nice little thing for them to do and get to be part of and they like to see the lights, who doesn’t,” Rob Hammons of Conway asked. “The kids love it, the families get to be spending time together, and get out together, it’s a nice thing.”
Throughout the holiday season, Rogers Plaza in downtown Conway will serve as the focal point for the celebrations. There will be activities there through the end of December.
