Man from Little Rock celebrates his 100th birthday
Little Rock, Arkansas – A Little Rock guy was the subject of a large celebration. Harold Pless will be 100 on Sunday afternoon.
Pless spent some time in the Army before beginning his career as an automobile engineer. He was born and raised in Lonoke before relocating to Little Rock.
Pless gave some guidance on his special day.
“Be obedient and studious and the best you can. Do the best you can.”
Alice Smith, the daughter of Pless, remarked that he makes everyone feel like family.
“He’s made everybody feel like part of the family,” Smith said. “Anytime you come see him or he’s with the family or anybody else, he’s just been a great father, I couldn’t ask for a better father.”
As a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Harold used his talents to construct ramps for the elderly and crippled at church members’ residences.
