A recent survey reveals that most Arkansans prefer former President Donald Trump to Vice President Kamala Harris
Little Rock, Arkansas – In contrast to the growing popularity for former President Donald Trump in some areas of the state, VP Kamala Harris is receiving more votes in some areas of Arkansas, according to a new survey released on Friday.
According to Talk Business & Politics and Hendrix College polling, Republican nominee Trump leads his Democratic opponent, who assumed the top place on the ticket following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the campaign in July, by a decisive 55% to 40% margin.
Apart from the leading party contenders, 1% of voters supported Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Libertarian Chase Oliver. A further 1% was divided between many other contenders, while 2% remained unsure. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, received no support.
696 potential voters in the Natural State participated in the poll, which was conducted on September 5 and 6, just after Kennedy announced his campaign’s demise but before what may turn out to be the last debate between Trump and Harris.
The results of the poll, according to Talk Business & Politics editor-in-chief and Capitol View anchor Roby Brock, indicate that the GOP is still dominating the state’s elections.
In the previous two election cycles, “Donald Trump has been the top choice of Arkansas voters,” according to Brock. “This result is fairly consistent with historical performance, given the dominance of the Republican Party in Arkansas and Trump’s stronghold on the GOP.”
For the vice president, the news was not entirely negative. According to the data, Harris actually had more support than Trump in the Second Congressional District, which covers a large portion of central Arkansas and Little Rock, as well as the Third District, which is located in the state’s northwest.
Jay Barth, an emeritus professor of politics at Hendrix College, noted that the former president enjoys substantial support in the First and Fourth Districts, where two out of every three people lean toward supporting Trump.
“The dynamics of the state’s politics going forward could be significantly affected if Harris maintains his support in northwest Arkansas throughout the campaign,” Barth stated.
Robert Coon, a Republican strategist and managing partner at Impact Management Group, stated that he expects the divide to expand before November and that the results, which show a solid level of support for Trump at this juncture in the race, were to be expected.
“The fact that former President Donald Trump is leading the race for president in Arkansas is not surprising, and Coon predicts that his margin of victory will likely widen beyond the 15% margin indicated in this poll.” “If this survey is accurate, Vice President Kamala Harris will receive 40% of the vote, which is higher than the 35% that President Joe Biden received in 2020.”

On Sunday on Capitol View, Brock will reveal additional polling data, including what people are thinking about issues on the November ballot and Arkansas’s elected representatives.
