Arkansas State students to work remotely Thursday due to ice storm warning
LITTLE ROCK — Students at Arkansas State University will continue to work remotely Thursday due to inclement weather, the school announced in a press release.
School officials said the campus will operate under their remote working plan. Essential personnel for on-campus operations are expected to report to the school as usual, but all on-campus classes will shift to remote delivery.
All Thursday on-campus student non-classroom activities are also postponed, according to the press release.
The university said on-campus support areas, including Student Housing, Campus Dining, and the Dean B. Ellis Library will continue operations. All campus dining will also operate on its standard brunch hours schedule. The Red W.O.L.F. Center will be closed.
The National Weather Service in Memphis issued an ice storm for Wednesday night into Thursday for much of the northeast part of Arkansas. NWS Memphis’ forecast also calls for more freezing rain Wednesday night with lows in the mid-20s. The University also said the Jonesboro area has icing on roadways and some elevated surfaces.
On Thursday afternoon, school officials said they will determine the plan for Friday.
