Average Arkansas gas prices show slight decrease
Little Rock, Arkansas – Prior to Halloween Weekend, according to AAA Arkansas Weekend Gas Watch, gas prices are on the decline on average.
The average gas price in Arkansas for the whole state is $3.28 a gallon, according to the weekend gas monitor.
Drivers in Pine Bluff spend the least on average ($3.19) per gallon, while those in Fort Smith pay the most ($3.34) per gallon among Arkansas’ largest urban regions.
Arkansas has the fourth-lowest average gas price in the nation, with a gallon costing $3.76.
“Fuel prices are going down despite strong demand as road trip travel remains popular this fall reaching near summer-like levels this prior week,” said AAA spokesperson Nick Chabarria. “Continued uncertainty with global oil supplies and production, however, means drivers should expect gas prices to fluctuate heading into holiday travel.”
According to AAA, despite continuous volatility in the world’s crude oil markets, gas prices are still declining.
Oil prices have been somewhat restrained over the past week, in part due to concerns about a global recession and the White House’s intention to keep using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve through December.
