Child’s body discovered in Lee County home buried beneath the hallway floor
Little Rock, Arkansas – A 6-year-old boy’s body was found Friday night inside a house in Lee County buried beneath a hallway floor, according to a statement from the Arkansas State Police.
Lee County sheriff’s officers summoned special investigators from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division to the scene at about 10:45 o’clock.
Agents are also looking into a 6-year-old child who shared the same residence in the Moro neighborhood, west of Marianna, who allegedly suffered burns to the scalp.
The children’s mother, Ashely Roland, 28, and Nathan Bridges, 33, were both detained by state police and are currently being held at the Lee County Jail.
Both defendants are accused of murder in the first degree, mistreatment of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to preliminary investigations, the youngster is thought to have passed away three months ago as a result of injuries he got at home. The method and cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner.
The injured girl has been taken to a hospital in Memphis and is said to be doing well.
