Little Rock, Arkansas – In a few days, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will become the first female governor of Arkansas.

In anticipation of Sanders’ special day on Tuesday, celebration activities began today.

“It’s such an incredible honor to be here as we prepare over the next couple of days to be sworn in as Arkansas’s 47th Governor,” Sanders said.

This afternoon, Sanders held a “Freedom Fest” complete with BBQ, beverages, activities, a mechanical bull, and her father Mike Huckabee’s live band.

Mike Huckabee, Sanders’ father, presided as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 until 2007. As of right now, according to Sanders, he is the best governor of Arkansas.

“I’m pretty sure that after just a couple of years, I’ll just be a forgotten memory and people are going to say that Sarah Sanders is the best Governor Arkansas has ever had,” Huckabee said.

Every activity that took place during the inaugural festivities had a purpose.

Sanders said, “We want to make sure that we do everything possible over the next couple of days to showcase and highlight all of the incredible things about our state.”

Sanders told us she wants to tell any and all the story of Arkansas – she said “I tell people all the time that I want to be the chief salesperson for Arkansas.”

However, Arkansans are not just telling their daughters the story she is trying to sell; they are also telling other stories at home.

“I have a twelve-year-old daughter myself, so I’m looking forward just her seeing you can be anything you want to be” Candice Lawrence, an attendee at the event, said.

She claimed that women’s emancipation has changed the game. Lawrence said, “Empowered women – empower women, and I feel very strongly that that’s the case, so it’s good to see strong female leadership in Arkansas.”

She added that while she is her own person and is interested in learning about Sanders’s intentions to make Arkansas stronger, she thinks Sanders will be a great leader like her father.

On January 10, Sanders will be officially inaugurated.
