Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders speaks at Home School Day at the Capitol

Little Rock, Arkansas – Hundreds of homeschoolers attended a speech by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday morning at the Capitol.
The Family Council and Education Alliance organize Home School Day as a celebration for families who homeschool their children.
Speakers at the event also included the commissioner of education for Arkansas, Jacob Oliva, and Lieutenant Governor Leslie Rutledge.
According to a statement from Family Council President Jerry Cox, homeschoolers will get the chance to interact with political leaders and learn more about the state government.
Sanders has put a lot of emphasis on the educational system as governor, proposing the Arkansas LEARNS education strategy.
The education measure was submitted by lawmakers to the General Assembly on Monday night.
