In North Little Rock, a new ramp connecting Interstate 30 EB to Interstate 40 EB is expected to open in October
North Little Rock, Arkansas – Beginning this month, motorists heading east on Interstate 30 will have access to a new ramp leading to Interstate 40 eastbound in North Little Rock.
When the ramp opens, traffic traveling east on I-30 will use the left lanes to enter I-40 eastbound rather than the right lanes as it did previously.
The change, according to representatives of the Arkansas Department of Transportation, will minimize problems with drivers weaving through traffic, increase driver safety, and enhance accessibility to US 67/167.
Traffic crews announced that the current I-30 eastbound to I-40 eastbound ramp will be closed for the night during the traffic shift to the new ramp. As soon as the date and diversion are verified, more details will be made public, according to ARDOT representatives.
The 30 Crossing project, which aims to upgrade and extend I-30 between Little Rock and North Little Rock, includes this modification. It is projected that the procedure will last until mid-2025.
A permanent and long-term travel effect interactive map for the 30 Crossing Project is available at 30Crossing.com, courtesy of ARDOT.
