Pocahontas, Arkansas – More than 30 new law enforcement officials have received official certification to serve and protect.

47 men and women received their diplomas from the Black River Technical College Police Academy on Friday, November 18. In August, they started their training.

All around the state, including Leachville, Monette, Mountain Home, Rector, Craighead, and Greene County, the cops and deputies will provide service.

The Jonesboro Police Department supplied eight of the police personnel. The agency announced that the officers’ assignments will start this weekend.

Patrolman Vincent “Vinny” Parks, who passed away earlier this year on the first day of training at a different training center in North Little Rock, was a police officer who was absent from the celebration.

Parks, according to authorities, died while participating in “training exercises” at the Central Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.

In order to decide whether or not criminal charges should be filed, the Pulaski County Attorney is now evaluating information provided by the Arkansas State Police on the death of Park.

Parks and four of Friday’s grads were receiving instruction in the North Little Rock campus at the time. The remaining policemen were transferred to BRTC from the aforementioned facility.
