Little Rock lady claims that her garbage pickup service has stalled and that workers haven’t visited in a year

Little Rock, Arkansas – Following months of back and forth with the city’s garbage collection agency, a Little Rock woman is searching for answers.

People with physical limitations can request assistance from the City of Little Rock with carrying their trash to and from the curb through a carry-out service. Linda Alexander claimed that although it is meant to be a useful tool for people with restricted mobility, it is actually more of a burden than anything else.

Alexander and Working4You had a meeting at her house to discuss the persistent issue. She let us listen in on what she claimed to be an average call to Little Rock’s helpline, 311, while we were there.

Alexander spoke with the woman on the phone for fifteen minutes, during which she reported the identical problem that she had previously encountered. Alexander reported that she had been in contact all year long.

“Why should I call once a week as he urged me to do? Everyone is aware of the situation, added Alexander.

Crews are expected to arrive at the front door, carry the garbage can to the curb, empty it, and then bring it back up for the next week as part of the carry-out program.

Only one crew visit has occurred in the past year, according to Alexander.

Is it okay for me to just leave it there in the maggot scum? There’s nothing else that I know of to do,” Alexander remarked.

In an effort to obtain information, Working4You first called the Public Works customer service line, then the department director, and lastly Aaron Sadler, the city spokesperson.

According to Sadler, Alexander submitted four separate requests to the city, three of which were made the day after the planned collection date. The demands, according to him, were “handled promptly.”

Sadler informed Working4You that the issue would be resolved the next day in a few of hours.
Indeed, it was.

Alexander got a call from Working4You on her typical day for garbage pickup. She claims workers arrived at her door and assisted her in moving her trash can to the curb. It’s crucial to remember that recycling and trash collection are two distinct initiatives.

Waste Management, the city’s appointed recycling provider, was contacted by Working4You after Alexander claimed to be experiencing problems with both.

“There was a clerical issue that didn’t get the address routed to the carry-out truck,” stated Bailey Moll, a company spokesperson.

According to Moll, Alexander claimed that her “trash pickup” was giving her problems, therefore her messages weren’t sent to the recycling company.

According to Moll, a review of the entire program was conducted to ensure that all standard operating procedures were enhanced, after Working4You’s call.

According to Waste Management, a common error made by residents is to call the city’s support line (311) and state inanely that they are experiencing “trash pickup issues.”

Moll advised being quite explicit in your questions so that the right person receives them if you are experiencing these problems.
