Residents of Little Rock respond to former President Donald Trump’s rally shooting

Little Rock, Arkansas – The news that former President Donald Trump had been shot on Saturday during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, stunned a lot of people, including those in the Natural State.
One person claimed that when they first saw the video going viral on social media and other news outlets, they didn’t believe the news and wondered whether it was even true.
“America doesn’t stand for murder, no matter who it is,” Beth Barrington said.
Barrington added that she hoped this would start a national dialogue about ending violence.
Others examine the circumstances and draw conclusions.
“We only get one life to live, so live it happy by any means necessary,” Brandon Williams said.
“I think it’s just crazy what politics will make people do,” Salone Staton said. “I just hope we can stop acting like this and come together.”
Staton thinks that for a short moment, this will bring the parties together and allow them to look at the bigger picture and the people who are hurting.
Many expressed how frightening they found this circumstance to be.
“It’s frightening that this is happening, and this is a conversation we should all have, about violence and mental health,” Barrington said.
For everyone seated at the event, it was a tragedy.
“Nobody needs to be shot sitting there doing something, that’s not cool so it’s just a bad thing that’s happened and it shouldn’t be that way,” Matt Hase said.
