Sherwood Rotary Club conquers the climb with 5K

Sherwood, Arkansas – With their 5k run on Saturday, the Sherwood Rotary Club “conquered the climb,” drawing a large turnout of community members, including families, dogs, and teachers, all in support of a worthy cause.
The Rotary Club’s community service initiatives, which include youth programs like summer readings and their Healthy Smiles event where they teach children about dental hygiene, are funded entirely by the race’s revenues.
Additionally, the event contributes to scholarships for local kids.
According to race director Kyle Blakely, the race is in its twelfth year.
“I believe that everyone ought to make an effort to support their local community. Blakely stated, “We want our communities to thrive and the only way to do that is together. We live in our communities, we work in our communities.”
According to Blakely, there were the most 5k racers this year.
Tim Sisk, a teacher and runner at Sylvan Hills, stated that the Rotary Club’s support extends beyond what educators can accomplish in the classroom.
“Having their support and me being able to support them builds a relationship that goes beyond what we can do in the classroom,” Sisk stated.
