47-year-old woman shot and killed in a weekend murder in Little Rock
Little Rock, Arkansas – The victim of a deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday morning in a neighborhood just south of Little Rock’s downtown was identified as a 47-year-old woman.
Maryam Ballard, a resident of North Little Rock, was discovered shot to death at 2407 S. Cross St. shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to the police.
For an autopsy, Ballard’s body was brought to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.
Little Rock police said in a news release on Monday that “the Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after detectives and began an investigation.” “Detectives canvassed the area and spoke with witnesses.”
Authorities stated that the investigation is still ongoing, but they provided no information about what precipitated the shooting or a description of the perpetrator.
An apartment building across the street from Baptist Health Medical Center saw the shooting death of a 19-year-old male the day after Ballard was discovered shot to death in the capital city.
