Lonoke girl’s wish comes true
Lonoke, Arkansas — 8-year-old Makenzie Lenox, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby.
Lenox’s only wish, was to have a professional sand volleyball court in her yard.
Sponsors of Make-A-Wish interviewed her and decided to make it happen.
“The majority of our wish for children is Disney World. That’s usually what we get or they want a princess party and things like that. We have a few gamers and we have a few room makeovers, but this by far is probably the most different I’ve ever had, with a beach volleyball court.” said Lorey Phillips, Make-A-Wish Volunteer.
Makenzie’s wish came true on Saturday afternoon.
According to her mother, it’s all she ever wanted.
“Make-A-Wish has been pretty neat to surprise us with this. I was surprised this was her wish. She is obsessed with volleyball as you can tell,” said Tabitha Lenox, Makenzie’s Mother. Two sponsors made this wish possible.
Mr. And Mrs. Dale Stock, who are the owners of Chick-Fil-A, on McCain, and Mr. and Mrs. Gina Wiertelak, owners of the Grumpy Rabbit, in Lonoke.
