Boil order issued following massive leak
Monete, Arkansas – The city of Monette has been given a boil order.
According to the city’s Facebook page, the leak on Virginia Avenue caused the water services to be shut off for the entire region.
Photos uploaded on the city’s Facebook page showed workers on the problem standing in water up to their necks.
As of 8:15 p.m., the problem has been resolved, according to Mayor Bob Blankenship, and workers are now flushing the nearby lines.
He said, “Until further notice, there is a boil order in effect for the city.”
Before drinking or using water for cooking, it is recommended that you boil it.
