Following gunfire during a dispute in a Pine Bluff park overnight, a teenager died and several were hurt
Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Police Department is looking into a fatal gunshot that occurred overnight and claimed the life of a 16-year-old.
Around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the PBPD, police visited a shooting victim at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. The 16-year-old victim was declared dead at JRMC. Another incident victim arrived at JRMC and is in stable condition.
The incident, according to PBPD officers, took place in Pine Bluff’s Martin Luther King Jr. Park. At the park, there was a gathering of people when a fight broke out and shots were fired.
JRMC provided treatment for two additional victims of the incident who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities stated that there is no known motive for the shooting.
This is Pine Bluff’s eighth homicide of 2023.
