Little Rock, Arkansas – This weekend, Arkansans seeking a secure method of getting rid of outdated records will have a choice that won’t compromise their privacy.

The “ShredFest” event will be held as part of ongoing efforts by AARP Arkansas and Rock Solid Shredding to assist consumers in preventing identity theft.

On Saturday, October 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, individuals can go to the AARP parking lot at 1701 Centerview Drive in Little Rock to securely discard any documents they don’t want others to find.

There will be a cap of three boxes of documents per vehicle at the event, which is free and accessible to everyone, not just AARP members. Additionally, the AARP is requesting that anybody attending bring a donation of canned goods for the Arkansas Food Bank.

Every two seconds, someone’s identity is stolen, claim AARP officials.

Visit AARP.org for more information about the event.
