ALERT: Bridge in Lawrence County urgently closed for repair, drivers to use alternative routes
Lawrence County, Arkansas – The bridge over Spring River on U.S. Highway 63/412 in Lawrence County has been urgently closed for immediate repairs, officials announced.
According to reports, Arkansas Department of Transportation closed the road in Ravenden to traffic on Tuesday around 12:30 p.m.
A recent inspection showed that the bridge, built in 1650s, had a “critical safety concern.” An immediate repair is required for fixing the “structural damage”.
Drivers are asked to avoid this area and use alternative routes. Officials say they will try to open at least one lane for traffic until Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
