ArDOT shutting Hwy. 63 to make upgrades
Craighead County, Arkansas – There may be some lane closures in the coming weeks as a result of improvements being made to a busy route.
On Monday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Tuesday, March 26, it would begin alternating lane closures on United States Highway 63 in Jonesboro between the hours of six a.m. and six p.m. each day.
To the existing roadway that runs between Dan Avenue (Highway 91) in Jonesboro and Craighead County Road 118 close to Bono, workers from the Arkansas Department of Transportation will be putting an asphalt overlay.
If the weather is favorable, the completion of the project is anticipated to take a total of six weeks.
In the area, motorists should exercise extreme caution when they are on the road.
