Arkansas reports over 1,600 new COVID cases
Little Rock, Arkansas — Arkansas reported 1,631 new COVID cases in the state, along with 31 more deaths, on Saturday.
Over the past week, Arkansas reached record-high hospitalizations at 1,819 during the peak of the omicron variant. But that number continues to decline as well as active cases.
A total of 9,793 people have died in Arkansas due to the virus and over 1.55 million have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus.

• Total cases: 793,361 (+1,631)
• Active cases: 41,069 (-3,409)
• Total deaths: 9,793 (+31)
• Hospitalized: 1,512 (-43)
• On ventilators: 230 (+5)
• Fully vaccinated: 1,550,002 (+601)

“Our testing was much lower yesterday, but the decline in active cases and hospitalizations continues. We need to continue to increase vaccinations to prevent serious illness and hospitalizations,” Governor Asa Hutchinson said.
