Little Rock, Arkansas – Downtown Little Rock saw the third annual Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead event on Thursday.

A Mexican custom known as “Day of the Dead” is observed yearly on the first two days of November in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away.

When celebrating Día de los Muertos, people use food, music, color, or anything else that evokes memories of their ancestors.

According to Carlos Giralt Cabrales, the Mexican ambassador in Little Rock, there will be a lot of Mexican food, vendors, children’s workshops, and altars for people to memorialize their loved ones.

The Central Arkansas Library System, the Little Rock Mexican Consulate, and the Downtown Little Rock Partnership are the sponsors of the event.
