Considering the terrible shooting that occurred in Dumas one year ago

Dumas, Arkansas –
Many people in Dumas stated they will never forget March 19. At a car exhibition, guns went off, 27 people were shot—including six children—and one person died.
Many people claimed that they were still shaken one year later after those incidents at the Hood-Nic car show.
“Definitely it shook everybody, but especially kids, that was the major part that really shook everybody up,” Steven Edwards, a man who attended the car show said.
According to the police, a fight between two individuals at the Hood-Nic Auto Show in Dumas led to shooting.
“I’m pretty sure there are kids that are terrified of the situation now,” Edward said.
30 minutes before the shooter started shooting at the event last year, Steven Edwards had already departed, but his daughter was still at the McDonald’s next to the parking lot.
“Just to get a call from her saying that they are up here shooting and you can hear it in her voice, people scrambling around,” Edward stated.
Notwithstanding what happened the year before, according to Edwards, he still attended the event this year, which took place on Saturday.
He claimed that this year wasn’t like previous ones.
“It changed everything last year, people’s minds weren’t in the right place,” Edwards said.
Edwards expressed his hope that the event, which aims to encourage nonviolence, will continue in the future.
“The Hood-Nic has always been for the kids anyways, so that’s the main thing, we shouldn’t have to stop the event from something bad like that happening,” Edwards said.
Edwards added that the event yesterday went off without a hitch. Brandon Knight is scheduled to go to trial in connection to the case later this year.
