Firing at an officer in Saline County, the suspect is arrested for the shooting

Little Rock, Arkansas – On Wednesday afternoon, a man was arrested after shooting and firing multiple shots at a Saline County Sheriff’s deputy.
A 911 call reported a man suspect shooting from inside a home. The deputies responded to the 12000 block of Chambers Road in Bauxite around 3:45 p.m. As the officials informed, the caller also mentioned that multiple weapons were used and in one point the shooter went outside and started shooting randomly.
The police release stated that the suspect, later identified as 61-year-old George Woffard, opened fire on the first officer arriving on the scene as he was exiting the patrol car. Some of the bullets hit the back door of the car.
Shortly after multiple police officers arrived on the scene as a support. The man threw his weapon on the ground and ran toward his nearby residence. Fortunately he was intercepted by a police officer who responded to the call. George Woffard was taken into custody and no injuries were reported in this case.
