Man from Arkansas is charged with threatening to kill a woman with a machete
Little Rock, Arkansas – The Jonesboro Police Department detained a guy after he threatened to sever a woman’s head with a machete.
The 51-year-old Anthony Jerome Adams was accused of first-degree terroristic threat and aggravated assault.
Due to a disturbance, police were called to a residence in the 3300 block of Barrett Circle on Monday.
When the police arrived, a woman told them she was trying to get her dog back, which had gotten loose, when Adams became enraged. He then goes to assault the dog with a machete.
Adams allegedly became enraged as the woman tried to protect her cat, yelling and cursing at her, grabbing her by the hair, holding the machete on her throat, and threatening to “cut her head off.”
According to court records, a witness approached the cops and related the victim’s account of events in detail.
Adams is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond after his arrest without incident. March 29 is his court date.
