Motorcycle rider killed in collision with Arkansas state policeman on Labor Day
Little Rock, Arkansas – One individual was killed on Labor Day in a car accident in Batesville involving an Arkansas State trooper.
According to the fatal crash report from the Arkansas State Police, Brandon Trewyn, 36, suffered undisclosed injuries, while Michael Owens, 63, died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
Trewyn is an agency soldier, according to ASP.
According to the accident report, Ownes made a left turn from Pfeiffer Road onto Highway 167 while driving a 2000 Yamaha northbound. Driving across all lanes of traffic, Owens ran into Trewyn.
The front of Trewyn’s 2020 Dodge Charger struck Owen’s car as he then attempted to go off the road to the right to avoid Owens, according to the report.
According to the complaint from the authorities, Trewyn was transferred to Batesville’s White River Medical Center to receive treatment for his wounds.
The investigation states that at the time of the collision, the sky was overcast and the road was dry.
