New leader for the Democrats in Arkansas and a look at the next Presidential election cycle
Little Rock, Arkansas – The evolving leadership of the Democratic Party in Arkansas and a look ahead to the election year of 2024 are the main topics of this week’s Capitol View.
Capitol View anchor Roby Brock introduced the program and outlined the significant events that have taken place in the Capitol during the past week. Governor-elect Sarah Huckabee Sanders unveiled her cabinet nominees, and before leaving office, Governor Hutchinson got the final commission reports.
Brock spoke with Grant Tennille, the departing chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party, after reading the news. Tennille discussed his decision not to run for reelection as party chairman as well as the prospects for the Democrats in Arkansas.
Jonathan Martin, a senior political columnist and the head of Politico’s political bureau, then joins Brock. Martin discussed the recent runoff in Georgia, Donald Trump’s dominance of the Republican Party, and how Democrats are gearing up for a new generation of party leaders.
