One person killed in a shooting at a South Arkansas Halloween party
Little Rock, Arkansas – Following a gunshot during a Halloween celebration in Dermott on Sunday early, a man has died.
The Dermott Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at 302 North Shepherd Street, according to a news release from the Arkansas State Police.
When the police arrived, they observed a number of people outside the building that had hosted the party. Joshua Thompson, 27, was discovered by police unconscious and bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds on the ground near his car.
Thompson was taken to McGehee Hospital, according to the authorities, where he passed away from his wounds about three in the morning.
The Criminal Investigation Division arrived at the location after the DPD requested that the State Police look into the matter.
According to authorities, the deceased will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab, where the cause and manner of death will be ascertained.
