Little Rock, Arkansas – Prosecutors responded to the Gravette, Arkansas man who has earned widespread recognition for his involvement in the Capitol incident on January 6 after he submitted various motions in the case.

Richard Barnett can be seen in a number of viral photos taken inside the White House in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, sitting in her chair with his feet on her desk.

Barnett now wants his “obstructing an official government proceeding” charge dismissed as well as a change of venue for his trial outside of Washington, D.C.

Barrett claimed that the jury pool was corrupt.

The prosecution in the case argued that because Barnett’s actions were deliberate, the obstruction charge should not be dropped and because the event occurred in Washington, D.C., a change of venue shouldn’t be permitted.

A court will now have the final say.
