Road work to begin in Sebastian County on Monday
Little Rock, Arkansas – Next week, routine bridge maintenance on the Garrison Avenue Bridge over the Arkansas River in Fort Smith will cause temporary lane closures in Sebastian County.
Beginning May 23, weather permitting, bridge maintenance crews are expected to work in the eastbound lanes from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The maintenance crews will switch to the westbound lanes from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. upon completion along the eastbound side.
Lane closures will be in place from May 23 through May 26.
According to ARDOT, drivers should slow down and minimize distractions when moving through a work zone. Using a phone in a work zone can result in citations and doubled fines.
