Shooting in Conway: 2 dead, 1 injured, 1 man in custody
Conway, Arkansas – Three distinct but connected gunshots that occurred in Conway on Friday night resulted in two fatalities and one injury.
Princemichael Ajetunmobi, a 32-year-old suspect, has been detained in relation to the shootings.
Just before 5:00 p.m., Conway police got a call reporting a shooting close to the crossroads of Highway 64 and Salem Road in the city’s northern region.
When the police arrived, they discovered a female victim, 25, who was later flown to a hospital in Little Rock.
Dispatch got a second report of a shooting on Newcastle Drive at 5:01 p.m.
When the police arrived, they found a 48-year-old woman who had died.
A 29-year-old male victim was discovered dead after a shooting on Donaghey Avenue and Simms Street, according to a third call to dispatch that was received at 5:11 p.m.
Conway PD and surrounding local, state, and federal agencies launched an intense manhunt.
When the suspect was discovered by Arkansas State Police a little after 8:00 p.m., a pursuit started and came to a conclusion close to the 126-mile mark.
Police said that the man fired at the policemen as they fled the car, but they did not respond with fire. The suspect then took off into the woods around Siebenmorgan Road and Highway 65, east of I-40.
The suspect was discovered in a nearby field at about 8:30 p.m. with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Ajetunmobi was taken to a neighborhood hospital.
According to Conway PD officers, Ajetunmobi is now thought to be familiar with all of the victims.
The inquiry is still ongoing.
The University of Central Arkansas Police Department, Arkansas State Police, United States Marshals Service – Little Rock Division, Little Rock Police Department, and FBI – Little Rock Field Office were all thanked by the Conway Police Department.
