Those experiencing flood damage, please call this number for help
Gould, Arkansas – “The flash flood alert was Tuesday if I’m not mistaken and that was our trigger. We moved out here Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday evening,” said Mike Ingram, Senior Disaster Program Manager for the American Red Cross.
American Red Cross made their way to the most hit areas by the flooding in Arkansas. They now help those in need who have lost their homes or who are experiencing damages by the floods. According to them, at this moment they can help with assistance in the form of damage assessments, shelter, and even providing clean-up supplies and resources.
“We let the community know the brand, the symbol, the cross is here,” said Ingram.
For those in the community needing aid, you have 3 options:
- You can go to the shelter location in Gould for assistance
- You can call the American Red Cross hotline number at 417-447-7180
- Or you can get help virtually
“For people who aren’t yet comfortable with getting back into the field, or who haven’t been vaccinated fully, virtual options are still available for our clients, the people that we serve, and our volunteers,” said Lori Arnold, Greater Arkansas Chapter American Red Cross Executive Director.
He also advised people that all services provided by the American Red Cross are completely free of charge. You should never pay for any service and if someone asks for money, it’s probably a scam.
“I can’t stress enough to anyone who’s watching how easy it is for you to reach out and get assistance,” said Ingram.
American Red Cross reminds everyone that they always need volunteers and additional funds in order keep helping those in need.
