Two police officers to be investigated over potential use of deadly force
Chicot County, Arkansas – Two police officers will be investigated over potential use of deadly force in the next period officials say.
The report indicates that the incident happened on Friday, May 21st around 3:30 p.m. when a sheriff’s deputy and Dermott police officer directed gunfire at an individual who stole a patrol vehicle belonging to the Lake Village Police Department.
The man who stole the vehicle later identified as 33-year-old Travis Haynes of Eudora, was transferred in hospital for treatment after suffering two gunshot wounds in his leg. According to hospital report, the injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
After Haynes was released from hospital, he was arrested.
There is open investigation now about the officers which should reveal if the officers used deadly force.
