Little Rock, Arkansas – Four fortunate Arkansans are starting the new year with a little extra money in their pockets after winning $425,000 in total this week from state lottery games.

Kimala Wallace of Alexander won the biggest jackpot of all, taking home a $200,000 win from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. Wallace had wagered $10 on the Bankroll quick game.

Wallace said lottery officials she scratched out her ticket in bed next to her irritated husband on Tuesday after buying it from the Circle K store on Vimy Ridge Road in Bryant.

“I thought she was joking because we always play like that,” Kimala’s husband Johnny Wallace Jr. told officials.

Kimala had won $100 and $30 on earlier instant games during a three-day winning streak, according to the lottery company, and her $200,000 triumph was simply the most recent.

“God did it again,” Kimala recounted of her win. She told officials she considers this win a “blessing” after a tough December.

Kimala stated that she intends to use her jackpot prize to pay off some expenses and buy another ticket.

Janet Russenberger and Joe Castor, longtime friends from Pangburn, are also having a happy time after their lottery winnings of $125,000 during Tuesday’s Natural State Jackpot drawing proved to be a profitable collaboration.

Castor admitted to lottery officials that he purchased Powerball, Mega Millions, and Natural State Jackpot tickets at the Pangburn Citgo and then gave them to Russenberger.

“She gets three days of fun,” he joked to officials.

According to the lottery organization, the couple intends to divide their wins and “put it to good use,” though neither has made up their mind about what to do with the money just yet.

M. Humphries, a resident of Heber Springs, was finally given a holiday surprise when he won a $100,000 Powerball win on Christmas Day.

According to the ASL, Humphries used a combination of his and his wife’s birthdays along with his lucky number to buy his winning ticket from his preferred store, Heber Springs Discount Tobacco.

He informed authorities that he intended to use his gains to cover a few bills.
