After a shooting leaves a Little Rock MEMS worker critically injured, police detain the suspect
Little Rock, Arkansas – After a shooting on Saturday night at a MEMS station in Little Rock, a guy is now under arrest.
One person was hurt in the incident, which took place just before 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of MEMS Station One, according to reports from the executive director of MEMS.
The female victim, who had life-threatening wounds, was rushed to the hospital and is still in serious condition.
Three hours after being stopped on I-30 in Texarkana, Arkansas, the suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of the Little Rock Police Department, Texarkana Police, and Arkansas State Police.
Omar Pena-Romero, age 23, was taken by ASP to Central Arkansas before being placed in the hands of Little Rock police.
He is accused of breaching a no-contact order, first-degree domestic battery, and unlawful use of another person’s property to help commit a crime.
LRPD officials think that this incident was a singular domestic conflict.
At the moment, Pena-Romero is detained at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
