Amir Ellis’s remains discovered near Highway 7 North, family confirms
Garland County, Arkansas – The mother of Hot Springs man Amir Ellis, who vanished eight months ago, and the Hot Springs Police Department have officially verified that her son’s body was discovered, following the discovery of “possible human remains” off Highway 7 North in Garland County, a little over a week ago.
According to Jessica Ellis, investigators told her that her son’s remains were discovered.
In a news release, the Garland County Sheriff’s Office stated that Eillis’s remains were discovered on December 16 at approximately 1:00 p.m., when they were in route to Highway 7 North.
On December 28, the authorities verified that the bones, which had been sent for DNA testing, were positively identified as belonging to Amir Ellis, a 19-year-old.
Ellis was abducted in May, and three people have been detained for their roles in his disappearance, according to Hot Springs police.
The Ellis family has been mourning Amir’s disappearance, his potential murder, and the court cases throughout the previous eight months while they have been searching the woods.
The investigation is still underway, according to the Garland County Sheriff’s Office, and they invite anyone with information to call them at 501-622-3660.
