Arkansas Cinema Society hosting a Filmland event in downtown Little Rock
Little Rock, Arkansas – The CALS Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock, Arkansas, will host the annual Arkansas Cinema Society Filmland event from November 2, 2022 to November 6, 2022. On November 2, it was revealed that there would be a screening of unreleased films.
These films include the Oscar-winning Sam Mendes film Empire of Light from Searchlight, Nanny, which won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, and the upcoming The Inspection from A24.
At Fimland, filmmakers from Arkansas get the opportunity to exhibit their work, network with other filmmakers, and hear from those on the fall festival circuit around the world. Neil LaBute, Mark Irwin ASC/CSC, Jennifer Washington, Kristian R. Hill, David Arquette, Gia Crovatin, Spade Robinson, local filmmakers, and industry experts will lead the filmmaking workshops and seminars at Filmland this year.
The Audience Award winners of the feature film category for the Filmland: Arkansas Digital Experience and the short film category for the in-person program will each receive a grant of $75,000 from the New Filmmaker Program. According to ACS, Panavision camera packages for a future film project may be purchased using the funding.
