Arrest of an Arkansas man wanted for child pornography made possible by electronic detection K9
Little Rock, Arkansas – An Arkansas man wanted on numerous counts linked to child pornography was arrested on Wednesday with the help of Lucy, an electronic detection K9.
Nikolas Antonio Pandis, 40, was detained on 30 charges of disseminating, having, or accessing material portraying sexual activity involving a juvenile, according to Attorney General Tim Griffin.
“Our electronic detection K9, Lucy, and her handler, Special Agent Amber Kalmer, participated in this bust,” Griffin said. “Lucy assisted in the recovery of key evidence in the case. This is exactly how we envisioned her helping us bring criminals to justice. I am supremely proud of my entire SID team, led by Chief Wayne Bewley.”
According to the press release, the Hot Springs Police Department helped the FBI arrest Pandis.
“Any time we’re able to take people who are victimizing children off the street, it’s a good day for justice in Arkansas,” Griffin said.
According to the press statement, Pandis was arrested and taken to the Garland County Jail with a $105,000 bond.
