Church fire under investigation
CARAWAY, Ark. – Investigators want to know what sparked an early morning church fire.
Multiple fire departments responded to the fire around 3:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, at the Caraway First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Illinois St.
Caraway Fire Chief Curtis Taylor said when his crew arrived, they saw flames shooting from the main building and an adjacent structure.
It took firefighters nearly an hour to get the flames under control. By 5:30 a.m., they were dousing hot spots.
Taylor said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Monette Fire Department assisted in putting out the fire.
