New, record number in daily hospitalizations in 6 months, Arkansas added 270 new cases
Conway, Arkansas – Arkansas added 270 new confirmed cases in the last daily Covid-19 report issued on July 6.
According to Arkansas Department of Health, six more deaths were reported as a result of the virus in the latest report.
Since the start of the pandemic, Arkansas reported 352,095 confirmed cases, while there have been 5,926 reported deaths.
There are 4,645 currently active cases, which is for 107 more compared to the day before. The total number of hospitalized people is 416. This is 55 more compared to Monday which is the biggest increase in hospitalizations on a daily basis in the last six months.
Counties with most new cases in the last report:
- Pulaski County – 57
- Garland County – 28
- Craighead, Washington – 16

During today’s weekly update, we discussed the risk of the COVID-19 Delta Variant and announced my plan to conduct a series of Community COVID-19 Conversations around the state to listen to concerns and answer questions around the COVID-19 vaccine. I also asked employers to provide paid time off to their employees to get vaccinated.
