The assistance for those who suffered damages in the early June flooding is coming soon
Arkansas – The assistance for homeowners and renters who suffered damages in the early June flooding might be coming soon.
The most heavily impacted areas, a total of 6 counties including Arkansas, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, Lincoln and Monroe counties, will be eligible for help offered through the State of Arkansas Individual Assistance Program.
The first step will be to apply for the assistance through a hotline that should be open very soon. Those who completely lost their home in the flooding or their main residence has become uninhabitable should call first.
Depending on the number of applications, officials expect there will be enough room to also assist those who need home repairs, cleaning, household debris removal and personal property repair.
However, the assistance won’t be available for businesses, secondary homes, vehicles, sheds or outbuildings, fencing, or food loss.
Those who will apply for assistance will have to provide many details to be verified as homeowners and renters including address of the damaged home, phone number, proof of ownership or rental agreement, insurance information, social security number and detailed damage information.
Once their application is received and reviewed, county emergency management crews will be required to insect the damages and verify all the information.
More details about the assistance will come soon with the start of the hotline.
