The capital city hosts the annual Corvettes and Veterans event
Little Rock, Arkansas – The capital city’s War Memorial Stadium has hosted the Corvettes and Veterans event for the second year.
According to organizer Jason Irby, the main goals are to raise awareness of the resources available for veterans’ mental health and to pay tribute to those who served our nation in the line of duty.
Irby remarked, “You can see that everyone is having a good time because everyone is smiling out here.” “On Veterans Day, we can express our gratitude for your service.”
By bringing many veterans together in Corvettes throughout the capital city, Irby is redefining the way that veterans are remembered.
“Many people were unaware that it’s a small, quick, military lethal vehicle,” Irby stated.
For a procession in which Arkansas schools and others took part, the vehicles queued up and the veterans climbed inside them.
With their mental health occasionally at risk, Irby said the event provides the joy that all veterans require, which is where the National American Legion comes in.
The American Legion’s national commander, James LaCoursiere Jr., stated, “We’re trying to destigmatize mental health.” “There are many factors at play, and I frequently discuss PTSD and TBI when I speak.”
Over a million veterans are cared for and given back to annually by the organization, which takes pleasure in offering them the support they require.
Old military equipment, uniforms, and other memorabilia were displayed as the event came to a close, serving as a constant reminder to veterans that their service is valued.
“I hope Veterans Day weekend is fantastic and safe for all the veterans and their families,” LaCoursiere remarked.
