$20 million grants will be funded by the Arkansas Department of Human Services for pilot project
Little Rock, Arkansas – On Fridy, the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) announced the creation of four pilot projects with $20 million in additional grant funding.
Through March of next year, children who receive Medicaid will be served by these four programs in experimental sites around the state, according to DHS.
According to DHS, it serves more than 400 thousand kids a year. Additionally, the organization annually invests more than $300 million in mental health initiatives.
“We are really trying to be holistic, because our children and family do not come to us in pieces, and yet we are asked to budget and plan for them as if they do.”
According to DHS, the purpose of each pilot program is to stabilize, nurture, and educate underprivileged children in order to strategically prevent crises.
