Little Rock police officer arrested for DWI while off duty
Little Rock, Arkansas – A Saturday morning incident involving one of their own officers is currently being looked into by the Little Rock Police Department.
Just after 2:00 a.m., according to reports, patrol officers responded to an accident on East 2nd Street. Off-duty Officer Paul Riley was engaged in the collision after being sent to the extended leave unit to complete a military assignment.
Riley was discovered unconscious inside the car by the police, who noted that he seemed to be drunk. After that, he was apprehended without a hitch and sent to the Pulaski County Regional Jail.
He tested with a blood alcohol level of 219. This is double the legal limit. Riley was then accused of driving while intoxicated and put on administrative leave while he waited for the results of an administrative investigation.
Since May 2023, Officer Riley has worked for the Little Rock Police Department.
